The Commonwealth of Independent States-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CIS-BCCI) organized a “Discussion on FTA followed by Iftar Party” on Saturday at Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort Ltd, bringing together business leaders and stakeholders from across the city.

The programme was attended by the Acting President of CIS-BCCI, members of the Board of Directors, general members, and distinguished guests from the business community, according to a press release.

The event began with a formal discussion on the significance of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and their potential impact on trade and investment between Bangladesh and the CIS countries. Speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral trade ties, expanding export opportunities, and exploring new areas of economic cooperation.

Participants actively exchanged ideas on trade facilitation, market access, and the role of business chambers in promoting international collaboration. Challenges and prospects related to FTA implementation were also highlighted during the discussion.

Jadab Debnath, Acting President of CIS-BCCI, reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to fostering trade, investment, and business connectivity between Bangladesh and the CIS region. He appreciated the valuable suggestions and active involvement of members and stakeholders.

The discussion concluded with a Doa, during which guests prayed for the nation’s economic progress as well as peace and welfare for its people.

Following the session, an Iftar Party was held in a warm and cordial setting, providing an opportunity for networking and strengthening relationships among members, guests, and business leaders.

The programme also saw participation from Dr. Mostafa Abid Khan, former member of the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission, along with advisers Mahbub Islam Runu and M. S. Siddiqui, directors of the Board, and general members of CIS-BCCI.
