The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has approved Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO) to issue redeemable non-cumulative preference shares worth Tk 459 million against the equity contribution of the Bangladesh government.

According to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources, the BSEC gave its consent through a letter dated August 31, 2026.

Under the approval, DESCO will issue 45.9 million redeemable non-cumulative preference shares, each with a face value of Tk 10, with a total value of Tk 459 million.

The shares will be issued in favour of the Bangladesh government, represented by the Secretary of the Power Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
