B Mirror Desk : Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao has expressed China’s readiness to assist Bangladesh in enhancing its export capabilities, fostering the integrated growth of trade and investment, jointly upholding the multilateral trading system, and contributing greater stability and certainty to the global economy.
He mentioned that China is also eager to collaborate with Bangladesh to execute the significant economic and trade agreements established by the leaders of both nations.
The Chinese minister highlighted the importance of advancing the ongoing development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Bangladesh, reinforcing collaboration in trade, e-commerce, production and supply chains, as well as investment, as reported by UNB on Sunday.
During his visit to Bangladesh, Minister Wang noted that over the last 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, both countries have consistently supported one another, treated each other as equals, and worked together for mutual benefit.
On Saturday, Minister Wang met with Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin, where they engaged in a thorough discussion on enhancing economic and trade cooperation between China and Bangladesh.
Bashir remarked on the deep friendship between Bangladesh and China, identifying China as Bangladesh’s most significant partner.
He welcomed an increase in Chinese investments and business ventures in Bangladesh and expressed a desire to strengthen collaboration with China in agriculture, manufacturing, e-commerce, and other sectors to foster a more balanced development of bilateral trade.
Bangladesh firmly advocates for free trade, adheres to WTO regulations, and promotes the inclusive advancement of global trade.
Following their meeting, both parties signed the “Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Working Group on Facilitated Trade” and the “Memorandum of Understanding on E-Commerce Cooperation.”
