Imran, Jhenaidah Correspondent : International Right to Know Day was celebrated in Jhenaidah under the slogan “Ensure Access to Environmental Information in the Digital Age.”

The event was organized by the Committee of Concerned Citizens (SANAK) and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB). On Sunday morning, the celebration began with the release of balloons at the premises of the old DC court in the town.

Following that, a rally was held, which paraded through various streets of the town and concluded at the Post Office intersection. A human chain program was then organized at the same location.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jhenaidah, Saifur Rahman; SANAK President M. Saiful Mabud; members N.M. Shahjalal, Nasrin Islam, and others spoke at the event.

During the program, speakers raised several demands, including the immediate formation of an independent Information Commission, public awareness about laws related to the disclosure of information in the public interest, and the effective implementation of these laws.
