Celebrating Independence and National Day with due dignity in Narayanganj

Great Independence and National Day was celebrated on 26th March with due dignity and humble respect through various arrangements in Narayanganj.

On Tuesday, at six in the morning, the day’s ceremonies began with a 31-gun salute in front of the Vijayastambha at Chashadha in the city. Since morning, people of various classes and professions paid tribute to the martyrs of the seventy-one years by offering flowers at the victory pillar built in the cultivated area.

With respect to the brave freedom fighters, the national flag is hoisted at various institutions, including public and private, at sunrise.

In the beginning, under the leadership of Narayanganj District Commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan, the district administration paid tribute to the brave freedom fighters and martyrs by placing flowers on the Victory Pillar.

After that, District Police, District Civil Surgeon, District Parishad, Narayanganj City Corporation, Narayanganj District Jail, Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, Industrial Police, LGED and other public and private institutions paid their respects.

After that, various political parties and their organizations, social, cultural organizations, educational institutions and people from different classes and professions paid tribute to the martyrs one by one.

Later at eight o’clock in the morning at Isdair Osmani Municipal Stadium, parades, physical exercises, sports, various attractive displays and competitions were held in memory of martyrs with the participation of students of various educational institutions on the initiative of Narayanganj district administration.

Meanwhile, district Awami League president Abdul Hai, metropolitan Awami League president Anwar Hossain and other affiliated organizations including Jubo League, Chhatra League, Swachhasebak League, Sramik League laid wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu installed in front of the office of District and Metropolitan Awami League at Railway Gate No. 2 of the city. During this time discussion meeting and doa mahfil were organized.

On the other hand, Narayanganj Mahanagar BNP convenor Adv. Sakhawat Hossain Khan and Member Secretary Add. Under the leadership of Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, the metropolitan BNP, Juba Dal, Chhatra Dal, Svechasevak Dal, Sramik Dal and other allied organizations took out a rally in the city. Later, he offered flowers to the victory pillar built in the cultivated area.

In addition, parades, physical exercises, sports, various charming displays and competitions were held in memory of martyrs with the participation of students of various educational institutions along with wreath laying in different upazilas of Narayanganj district on the occasion of great independence and national day.
