CAB Pabna awareness meeting held with students

Mansur Alam, Pabna : A consumer awareness meeting was organized by the Pabna district branch of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB). The hour-long event was held at the hall room of the traditional Shaheed Ahmed Rafiq Girls High School located on Beltola Road in Dilapur, Pabna on Tuesday, May 20 at 12 noon.

Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Pabna District Commissioner’s Office KM Mamunur Rashid delivered the speech as the chief guest. Mahmud Hasan Rony, Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department Pabna, delivered the speech as the special guest under the chairmanship of the organization’s president ABM Fazlur Rahman. Under the moderation of the general secretary, assistant professor SM Mahbub Alam, the school’s head teacher Helena Khatun, the organization’s joint general secretary Shafiq Al Kamal, organizing secretary Dr. Mansur Alam, member poet Aziza Parvin and BRAC SSF Program Area Manager Sohrab Hossain also delivered speeches.

Hridoy Hossain, Sadar Upazila correspondent of Daily Sarejamin Barta, and more than a hundred students of the school were present.

After the speech, a quiz competition was held with the students. It was conducted by Mahmud Hasan Roni, AD of Bhoktar. The students participated spontaneously and answered the questions. Suraiya Akhter of class 10 of the school came in 1st place, Payel Das came in 2nd place and Nipa Akhter of class 9 came in 3rd place. They were later awarded.

The program ended with the closing remarks of the president. At the beginning of the program, journalist Khaled Ahmed recited from the Holy Quran.
