BSEC wants to listing the big three groups in the capital market.

A meeting of the top entrepreneurs of Meghna Group, City Group and PHP Group was held with Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). The meeting discussed the listing of companies with strong fundamentals under these three groups in the capital market.

The meeting was held at the BSEC office on Monday (October 7). BSEC chairman Khandkar Rashed Maksud presided over it. This information was informed in a BSEC press release on Tuesday (October 8).

According to the notification, listing of well-founded companies in the market is necessary for the sake of the capital market and for this purpose, the capital market regulatory body BSEC is working earnestly. In this context, discussions were held with the entrepreneurs of the group about listing the companies with strong fundamentals under the three largest groups of the country: Meghna Group, City Group and PHP Group in the capital market. In the overall successful and productive meeting, various issues including long-term financing through the capital market, valuation of the company in the case of listing, simplification and speedy execution of the process of IPO approval and listing were discussed.

BSEC Chairman Khandkar Rashed Maksud said in the meeting that Meghna Group, City Group and PHP Group have made significant contributions to the economic development of Bangladesh and the industrial and commercial sector. Not only are they well-known as one of the largest industrial groups in Bangladesh, they also have businesses in chemicals, cement, food and consumer goods, real estate, insurance, securities, utilities, steel, printing and packaging, shipping, power and energy and fuel, shares and securities, insurance, There are established companies in various sectors such as media, healthcare, steel, glass, aluminium, ship breaking and recycling, textiles, petroleum products, agricultural products, leather products, fisheries etc. which is a clear reflection of their business scope and diversification. The listing of companies with important strong fundamentals in these various sectors in the country’s capital market will strengthen the country’s capital market on the one hand, and on the other hand, as a result of financing through the capital market, an opportunity will be created to accelerate the speed of industrialization and development of the country through the further development of these various sectors.

He also said that BSEC will meet with other big groups of the country with the aim of listing companies with good fundamentals in the capital market. As a result of this effort, BSEC hopes that there will be listing of companies with good fundamentals in the capital market of Bangladesh in the future. Through this, new momentum will come in the country’s capital market and it is expected that the market will get a more lively form. The present commission is working tirelessly to build a prosperous and successful capital market and for the overall development and reform of the capital market. By ensuring reforms, development and good governance in the country’s capital market, investors are expected to get a transparent, dynamic and modern capital market soon.
