B Mirror Report: The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has invited opinions, suggestions, and objections from stakeholders regarding its draft Corporate Governance Rules for the stock market.
In a notice signed by BSEC Director and Spokesperson Md. Abul Kalam on Thursday, the commission said the draft rules were formulated under the powers granted by Section 33(1) of the Securities and Exchange Ordinance, 1969.
The regulator stated that feedback on the proposed rules must be submitted within two weeks from the date of publication in newspapers or on the commission’s website. Accordingly, the deadline for submitting opinions has been set for May 31.
The BSEC also said the draft regulations can be accessed through the commission’s website link or by scanning a QR code.
According to the commission, the new Corporate Governance Rules aim to further strengthen governance, accountability, and transparency in listed companies.
