BPPA Submits First Annual Report for FY25 to IMED

B Mirror Report: The Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) on Tuesday submitted its Annual Report for the fiscal year 2024–2025 to the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), in compliance with the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority Act, 2023 and the Right to Information Act, 2009.

BPPA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) S. M. Moin Uddin Ahmed formally handed over the report to IMED Secretary Shirajun Noor Chowdhury at his office on the Bangladesh Planning Commission campus in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. Senior officials of BPPA were present during the handover ceremony.

According to a press release, the Annual Report offers a comprehensive account of the policy and institutional framework, operational activities, and overall progress of the country’s public procurement system during FY 2024–2025.

The publication is designed to serve as an authoritative reference document, highlighting developments in electronic government procurement (e-GP), sustainable public procurement (SPP), amendments to relevant laws and regulations, capacity-building and training programmes, and post-procurement review mechanisms.

Welcoming the submission, the IMED Secretary thanked BPPA for preparing and delivering the report, noting that it would be a valuable resource in the preparation of future annual reports. He also praised the overall design and presentation of the document.

Speaking on the occasion, the BPPA CEO said this marks the first-ever Annual Report of the Authority. He noted that BPPA was established on September 18, 2023 through the transformation of the former Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of IMED into an autonomous authority.
