A special prayer session was held at the headquarters of Bangladesh Krishi Bank on Sunday, August 16, marking the 82nd birth anniversary of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The prayer programme was organised by the Bangladesh Krishi Bank Employees Union (CBA), B-985, after the Zuhr prayers.
Speakers at the event recalled Khaleda Zia’s long political career and contributions to Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty, democracy and people’s rights. They said she played an important role in the country’s politics and democratic movements as Bangladesh’s first female prime minister.
The event was chaired by Faiz Uddin Ahmed, president of Bangladesh Krishi Bank CBA.
Among others, Md Zahid Hossain, chief coordinator and deputy general manager of the Bangladesh Krishi Bank Officers Welfare Association, and Syed Liaquat Hossain, convener and deputy general manager of the association, addressed the gathering.
The bank’s Dhaka division general manager and officials and employees from different levels attended the prayer session.
