Dhaka: aviation.com.bd is set to organise a day-long special workshop to introduce young people to the world of aviation ground operations and the career opportunities available in this sector. The workshop will be held on 26 September 2026, Saturday, at Bishwo Sahitto Kendro, Dhaka.
Titled “Introduction to Aviation Ground Operation: Knowledge & Career Path,” the workshop aims to provide participants with an understanding of aviation ground operations and the existing and future career opportunities within the sector.
In Bangladesh, discussions about aviation careers often focus primarily on pilots and cabin crew. However, a large number of professionals are involved in the operations that take place between an aircraft’s arrival at an airport and its subsequent departure. Passenger services, baggage, cargo, airside operations, safety and various ground support activities are all essential parts of this process.
The workshop will introduce participants to these areas of ground operations, the different career paths associated with them and the skills required to work in the sector.
According to the organisers, the expansion of Bangladesh’s aviation infrastructure and airport operations is expected to increase the need for skilled professionals. In particular, opportunities may grow in ground operations, passenger services, baggage, cargo and airport support services. The workshop therefore aims to familiarise young people with the different career opportunities within aviation ground operations.
The programme will cover the fundamentals of aviation ground operations, an overview of the aviation industry, key ground operation functions, career pathways and the skills required for professional development. Participants will also have the opportunity to interact and exchange views with experienced aviation professionals.
The workshop will be led by Harunur Rashid, Founder & CEO of aviation.com.bd and former Airport Manager of Air Arabia.
Mr. Misbah Al Ahmed Mazumder will join as a special speaker. An experienced aviation professional, Mr. Mazumder has worked with several international organisations, including British Airways, Emirates, DHL, Qatar Airways, RAK Airways, SriLankan Airlines and Maldivian. He currently serves as an Advisor to the Bangladesh Aviation Committee.
The workshop will take place from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on 26 September at Bishwo Sahitto Kendro. The participation fee has been set at BDT 2,500, while an early registration fee of BDT 2,000 will be available until 31 August. Participants will receive certificates upon completion of the workshop. aviation.com.bd has been working to create greater awareness of aviation and tourism careers and skills among young people. The platform regularly organises training programmes, workshops and awareness initiatives aimed at developing knowledge and skills in aviation and tourism. It plans to continue such programmes and campaigns to introduce the next generation to the opportunities within these industries and encourage them to develop the skills needed for future careers.
