BKB employees hold rally over four-point demands

The Bangladesh Krishi Bank Employees Union B-985 (CBA) organised a protest rally at the bank’s head office, raising a four-point set of demands aimed at ensuring the rights and interests of its officers and employees.

The demands include recruitment of employees, formulation of a new organogram, bringing outsourced workers under the bank’s direct supervision, and removal of executive and senior-level officials.

The rally was addressed by the organisation’s president, Foyez Uddin Ahmed, and general secretary, Md Miraj Hossain.

The organisation, affiliated with the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, urged the bank authorities to take immediate steps to address the demands of its officers and employees.

The speakers called for the recruitment of employees and speedy formulation of a new organogram in line with the election manifesto of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

They also demanded that outsourced workers be brought under the bank’s direct supervision, alleging that the workers were currently controlled by what the organisation described as “Awami contractors.”

The union further demanded the immediate removal and compulsory retirement of what it described as “Awami fascist” executive and senior officials of the bank.

The demands raised at the rally were subsequently presented to the chairman and managing director of Bangladesh Krishi Bank.
