B Mirror Report: The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is set to send a high-level business delegation to Ankara to strengthen bilateral trade relations with Turkiye and explore new investment opportunities in the textile sector.
The decision came during a courtesy meeting between Turkiye’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen and BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara on Sunday.
The meeting focused on expanding trade cooperation, increasing investment, and developing strategic partnerships in the apparel and textile industries between the two countries.
BGMEA leaders said Turkiye is a promising market for Bangladesh, particularly in product diversification and sourcing of raw materials. They expressed hope that the upcoming visit would help open new avenues for collaboration.
The Turkish ambassador emphasized the importance of enhancing business-to-business engagement and encouraged an early visit by the BGMEA delegation to Turkiye to further deepen commercial ties.
Both sides also discussed potential cooperation in man-made fiber, technical textiles, and modern textile machinery, along with improving logistics connectivity through Turkish Airlines and Istanbul Airport.
The initiative is expected to further strengthen economic relations and support long-term growth in Bangladesh’s export-oriented garment industry.
