BGMEA Congratulates tarique rahman, hails BNP’s historic victory

B Mirror Report: The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) today extended heartfelt congratulations to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on the party’s historic landslide win in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

In a message issued by BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, the association praised the BNP for securing more than a two-thirds majority under the “unique and visionary leadership” of Tarique Rahman. The message conveyed “sincere and heartfelt congratulations” to the chairman, as well as leaders and activists across all levels of the party, calling the victory an “unprecedented and sweeping mandate.”

The BGMEA described the electoral outcome as a reflection of the people’s aspirations to safeguard democratic continuity and build a prosperous, equitable Bangladesh, terming it an “unforgettable milestone” in the nation’s democratic journey.

Expressing confidence in the new leadership, the association highlighted that Tarique Rahman’s dynamic and bold guidance could further strengthen Bangladesh’s global economic standing. The message emphasized the ready-made garment (RMG) sector as a cornerstone of the national economy, noting that the industry faces critical challenges following the country’s graduation from the LDC category.

The BGMEA stressed the need for visionary policy support and a business-friendly approach from the new government to ensure uninterrupted energy supply, address post-LDC challenges, and consolidate Bangladesh’s competitive position in the international apparel market. “Sustainable growth in the RMG sector will require pragmatic policies, stable energy, and strategic trade facilitation,” the message added.

Expressing optimism, the BGMEA said that with full support and guidance from the new government, the sector could achieve the national target of US$100 billion in garment exports by 2030. It also expressed hope that under Tarique Rahman’s leadership, the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ brand would continue to strengthen its global reputation for excellence and resilience.

The association also congratulated BGMEA members elected as Members of Parliament, emphasizing that their active role in the Jatiya Sangsad would help address sectoral issues and boost the overall economy. BGMEA concluded by wishing Tarique Rahman good health, longevity, and continued success in leading the nation forward.
