BGB seizes Indian drugs, goods worth Tk 18 million in Feni operation

Aftab Momin Feni Correspondent : A large amount of Indian drugs and goods have been seized in a special operation conducted by the BGB 4th Battalion in Feni to prevent smuggling at the border.
According to BGB sources, a special patrol team of the Feni Battalion conducted a raid in the border areas under Chhagalnaiya police station in Feni district and Zorarganj police station in Chittagong on July 22. Marijuana, T-shirts, glasses and shoes smuggled from India were recovered during the raid. The estimated market value of the seized goods is around 18 million 97 thousand taka.
The BGB said that the seized drugs and other smuggled goods are in the process of being handed over to the local police station and customs authorities.
The BGB commander said that regular operations and intelligence activities are being carried out to ensure security at the border and prevent smuggling and illegal infiltration. The BGB’s operations against smuggling will continue.
