Bangladesh Bank has opened applications for its UDYOG programme in all upazilas of 56 districts, aiming to identify promising young entrepreneurs and help them secure financing for their business ventures.
The application window opened on November 1 and will remain open until November 30, 2026, according to an announcement published on the central bank’s UDYOG platform.
The initiative, titled “Upazila-based Young Entrepreneur Identification and Financing Programme”, is designed to discover potential entrepreneurs at the grassroots level and provide them with access to suitable financial assistance to establish or expand their businesses.
Under the programme, young entrepreneurs from different upazilas will have the opportunity to submit applications for consideration and potential financing support.
Meanwhile, the first phase of the initiative has already been completed in eight districts, where applications have been collected from all upazilas. The selection process for prospective entrepreneurs in these districts is currently ongoing.
The eight districts are Manikganj, Feni, Naogaon, Jhenaidah, Bhola, Habiganj, Rangpur and Netrokona.
Through the initiative, Bangladesh Bank aims to widen access to finance for young entrepreneurs outside major urban centres, encourage grassroots business development and create new opportunities for entrepreneurship across the country.
