A month-long Entrepreneurship Development Program has been inaugurated in Jhenaidah on Thursday, October 30, 2025, jointly organized by Bangladesh Bank and Jamuna Bank PLC under the slogan “Udyokta Hobo, Desh Gorbo”. The program has been launched under the “Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation (SICIP)” initiative of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Md. Shahidul Islam, Deputy Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer of Jamuna Bank PLC. Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank and Project Director of SICIP, attended the event as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the program. Md. Samsul Alam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, was present as the Special Guest. Among others, N.H.M. Nusrat, Head of SME (Marketing), and Mohammad Kabir Hossain, Khulna Area Head of Jamuna Bank PLC, were also present. The program aims to enhance the skills and capacities of new and existing entrepreneurs through training and financial support. Participants will gain essential knowledge and expertise in business management, helping them access formal banking services and contribute to sustainable economic growth. Senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and Jamuna Bank PLC, along with a large number of aspiring local entrepreneurs, attended the inauguration ceremony. The guests expressed their optimism that this initiative will play a significant role in strengthening local entrepreneurship and promoting financial inclusion.
