B Mirror Report : Bangladesh’s general point-to-point inflation rate rose to 8.49 percent in December 2025, slightly higher than 8.29 percent in November 2025, according to the latest figures released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The moderate increase in inflation was primarily driven by a rise in both food and non-food prices.
The BBS data revealed that food inflation increased to 7.71 percent in December from 7.36 percent in November, while non-food inflation rose to 9.13 percent, up from 9.08 percent the previous month.
Inflation trends were observed in both rural and urban areas, with slight increases recorded across the country.
The data indicates a steady but manageable inflationary pressure, reflecting gradual changes in consumer prices amid ongoing economic dynamics.
