Due to the slow pace of the economy, Bangladesh’s gross domestic product or GDP growth will be 4.5 percent in the fiscal year 2024-25, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Earlier, the organization’s forecast for the current fiscal year was 6.6 percent.
The IMF made such an estimate in its World Economic Outlook on Tuesday (October 22). The organization releases a ‘World Economic Outlook’ every year in April and another in October.
The IMF’s earlier forecast of GDP growth for the current fiscal year was 6.6 percent. However, the company said that inflation will be 9.7 percent earlier.
According to the latest outlook, world GDP growth will remain steady at 3.2 percent in 2024 and 2025. And after 2025, global overall inflation will decrease to 3.5 percent. The World Economic Outlook, however, does not have a separate review or analysis of Bangladesh, except for reference to the data.
