Bangladesh sends 2nd consignment of emergency aid to Myanmar

B Mirror Desk: Bangladesh has dispatched its second mission of emergency medical supplies and relief materials to assist the victims of the catastrophic earthquake in Myanmar.

This shipment was delivered on Tuesday morning using three transport aircraft from the Bangladesh Army (BA) and the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), following directives from Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, as reported by the CA’s Deputy Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.

The mission includes rescue and medical teams made up of specialists from all three military branches, along with doctors from the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), the Bangladesh Army (BA), and civilian medical professionals. In total, there are 55 rescuers and doctors involved, accompanied by 37 crew members across the three aircraft.

The teams are equipped with self-sustaining supplies, including rations, hygiene products, communication tools, and cooking equipment. Additionally, the mission has delivered eight tonnes of dry food, 2.5 tonnes of water, four tonnes of medical supplies, one tonne of hygiene items, and 1.5 tonnes of relief tents for those affected by the earthquake.

Previously, on Sunday, Bangladesh had already sent its first mission of urgent relief supplies, which included medicines, tents, dry food, and medical personnel, to Myanmar through the Bangladesh Armed Forces, led by the Bangladesh Army.
