Bangladesh Food Safety Authority conducts Iftar market drive in Mymensingh

Raihan Ahmed, Mymensingh: On Monday, 11.03.2025, a monitoring team led by Mr. Mirza Shahran Hossain, District Food Safety Officer of the Safe Food Authority District Office, Mymensingh, visited various Iftar markets in Mymensingh.

During the inspection, various irregularities were observed, including selling Iftar in open conditions, serving Iftar on newspapers, distributing Iftar on paper, not following personal hygiene rules, etc. In addition, burnt oil tests and personal hygiene checks of food workers were conducted using Oleo Test Kit and Hand Swab Testing Kit, respectively.

 

In line with this, inked paper was seized and destroyed from various food establishments, and hand gloves, hair nets, and face masks were distributed to food workers at all food establishments.

During the operation, the district administration, along with the district office’s sample collection assistant, Mr. Mamun Al Rashid, and other employees of the district and metro offices were present.
