Bangladesh eyes Boeing aircraft lease to boost aviation capacity

B Mirror Report: The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has shown interest in leasing aircraft from Boeing to meet the country’s rising demand in the aviation sector.

The matter was discussed when Boeing Vice President Paul Righi paid a courtesy call on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam at her office. State Minister M Rasheduzzaman Millat was also present during the meeting.

During the discussion, both sides reviewed various aspects of potential agreements between Boeing and the interim government, with a focus on leasing aircraft to address current operational needs.

Paul Righi expressed Boeing’s interest in providing narrow-body aircraft, particularly from the B737 series, on lease to Bangladesh. In response, Minister Afroza Khanam stressed the importance of expediting the leasing process to ensure timely support for the country’s aviation sector.
