Begum Khaleda Zia, a unique personality and unforgettable name in the political history of Bangladesh, is the leader of the country. She is the first female Prime Minister of the country and the second elected female head of government in the Muslim world. She received the title of ‘uncompromising’ leader in the movement against dictatorship, autocracy and fascism and for the restoration of democracy. August 15 is the 82nd birth anniversary of Begum Khaleda Zia. On this occasion, the Honorable Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Md. Ataur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the program organized at the bank’s head office. Mr. Md. Obaidul Hoque Managing Director presided over the program. Among others, Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Mohammad Ziaul Karim and Mr. Md. Zahirul Alam were also present the occasion. All divisional head and other officials of head office were present at the occasion.
Chief Guest Mr. Md. Ataur Rahman in his speech said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP, known as the political party of the mother, land and people, founded by the great independence proclaimer, martyr President Ziaur Rahman, has reached a strong organizational structure and roots of popularity with the help of his wife Begum Khaleda Zia. In the face of various state oppressions and crises at every turn of history, the party has risen like a phoenix under the strong leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia, proving its acceptability, popularity and relevance in Bangladeshi politics time and again.
Managing Director Mr. Md. Obaidul Hoque said that Begum Khaleda Zia has become an integral part of history in the democratic movement and struggle, in the building of modern Bangladesh. National leader Begum Khaleda Zia is not just an individual, but has turned herself into an institution through her own actions. She has become a living history.
On the 82nd birth anniversary of national leader Begum Khaleda Zia, prayers are offered to the Almighty God, seeking forgiveness for her departed soul and granting her paradise.
