Bangladesh bank, Shahjalal islami bank sign leather industry deal

Bangladesh Bank and Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. signed an agreement for the Development of Leather and Leather Goods Industry on 16 September 2026, at the Bangladesh Bank Head Office to participate in the Pre-financing scheme. In presence of the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Mr. Md. Anis Ur Rahman, the Director of the SME & Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank Mr. Md. Zabdul Islam and the Additional Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. Mr. Md. Abdullah Al-Mamun signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. This agreement will play a significant role in boosting the production and export capacity of the country’s leather and leather goods industry and expanding necessary financing facilities for entrepreneurs in this sector.

Among other the Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Mr. Md. Mojibur Rahman Sheikh, the Senior Assistant Vice President, Export Investment Division of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. Mr. Saidur Rahman and the Senior officials from both organizations were present at the agreement signing ceremony.
