BAIUST Marks 11th Anniversary with Freshers’ Reception and Festive Events

Elias Hossain, Cumilla Correspondent: The Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology (BAIUST) celebrated its freshers’ reception and 11th founding anniversary with a vibrant, day-long festival on Wednesday (April 15) at the university’s central field.

The event, organized by the BAIUST Cultural Club, was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Brigadier General Md. Kamal Uddin Kamal through a ceremonial balloon release.

In his opening remarks, the Vice Chancellor extended greetings on the occasion of the Bengali New Year and highlighted the university’s steady progress and achievements over the past 11 years. He noted that BAIUST began its journey on February 14, 2015, at a temporary campus in Cumilla Cantonment with the motto “Knowledge, Wisdom and Technology.”

He credited the institution’s growth to the dedication of its faculty, staff, students, and guardians, along with the continued support of the Bangladesh Army. Expressing optimism, he said the university is on track to establish itself as one of the country’s leading higher education institutions in the near future.

Marking the occasion, students actively participated in a range of activities, including cultural performances, a flash mob, and a Boishakhi fair, adding color and festivity to the campus.

Among others present at the event were Treasurer Colonel Mohammad Eftekharul Haque (Retd.), Registrar Lt. Colonel Khandakar Mahmud Hossain (Retd.), deans of various faculties, teachers, officials, staff, and students. The welcome speech was delivered by Nusrat Jahan, Associate Professor of the Department of Science and Humanities and adviser to the BAIUST Cultural Club.
