Appointment of 6,500 primary teachers canceled

The High Court has cancelled the appointment of 6,531 people who were appointed as assistant teachers in the third phase of the quota for government primary schools in Dhaka and Chittagong. The High Court gave this verdict on Thursday (February 6). The court has ordered the appointment on the basis of merit.

The final results for the post of assistant teachers in government primary schools in Dhaka and Chittagong divisions (excluding the three hill districts) were published on October 31, 2013. 6,531 people passed the results.

Earlier, on May 28, the High Court had stayed the recruitment process for the post of assistant teachers in government primary schools for six months. Later, the Appellate Division dismissed the stay order and the Department of Primary Education conducted the oral examination.
