Nazrul Rajbari Correspondent: A complaint has been lodged against local influential figures Harun Master, Imdadul, and Nazrul for encroaching on government land as well as private property in the Mallik Para area of Ward No. 1 in Khankhanapur Union, Rajbari Sadar Upazila. In this matter, the victim, Anwara Begum, has filed a written complaint with the Rajbari Sadar Upazila Executive Officer.
The victim, Anwara Begum, stated, “I own private land adjacent to three roads. There is also government land next to it. Although there has been a long-standing dispute regarding the land, on June 26, they began to forcibly fill both the private and government land with a bamboo fence using a drum truck. Simultaneously, they have cut down government bamboo bushes as well as small and large trees. In their attempt to encroach upon the land, they are harassing me by filing multiple cases against me.”
In contrast, the accused Harun Master asserted, “That land is mine. A government road has been constructed on my property. I have fenced my land and excavated the soil. I possess all the necessary documents for the land, and I can present them to you if required.” Md. Mr. Ali, the Khankhanapur Union Land Assistant Officer, remarked, “Based on the markings claimed by Harun Master, the land does not belong to him. Instead, it is owned by the residents there. For the time being, all activities in that area have been halted. Subsequently, the land will be returned to its rightful owners after proper measurement.
