All bank accounts of SK Trims have been frozen.

All the bank accounts of SK Trims, a miscellaneous sector company listed in the capital market, have been seized. From now on the company will not be able to do any kind of transaction through the existing bank account.

The company’s bank account has been seized by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) and the Metropolitan Judicial Court.

The company’s bank accounts have been frozen following the recommendations of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Motiur Rahman, a former officer of the National Revenue Board discussed in the case of SK Trims Company goats. On Eid al-Adha, Matiur Rahman’s son Sifat bought a goat from Sadiq Agro in Mohammadpur of the capital for Tk 150,000 and a cow worth Tk 7000,000 from various farms in Dhaka. Since then Matiur Rahman’s son has expensive brand watches, cars, luxurious lifestyle; Discussions started about property including resort, shooting spot, bungalow house, and land in the name of Matiur Rahman and family members.

Earlier, he was removed from the post of chairman of the Customs, Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunal and attached to the Internal Resources Department of the Ministry of Finance. Bank and BO accounts of Motiur, his two wives and five children were seized on Tuesday at the request of the ACC. Earlier on Monday, the court banned Motiur, his first wife Laila Kaniz and son Ahmed Taufiqur Rahman from traveling abroad.
