Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited (AIBL) has officially launched its 217th branch in Gopalganj Sadar. The branch commenced operations on Monday after the bank’s Chairman Alhajj Abdus Samad Labu inaugurated it as the chief guest.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by several prominent figures, including Alhajj Salim Rahman (Executive Committee Chairman), Alhajj Mohammad Abdus Salam (Executive Committee Vice Chairman), Alhajj Md. Abdul Hamid Miah (Chairman of the Board Audit Committee), Alhajj Ahamedul Haque and Alhajj Liakat Ali Chowdhury (Directors), Alhajj Md. Anwar Hossain and Alhajj Md. Rafiqul Islam (Directors), and Farman R. Chowdhury (Managing Director & CEO) of AIBL.
The ceremony began with paying floral tributes and offering prayers at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara. Abu Sayed Md. Abdul Mannaf, Khulna Zonal Head & Senior Vice President of AIBL, offered the vote of thanks. Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Mayor of Tungipara Municipality, and Kazi Zinnat Ali, President of Gopalganj Chamber of Commerce and Industries, graced the event as special guests.
Engr. Md. Habib Ullah, Senior Executive Vice President of AIBL, and Jalal Ahmed, Executive Vice President & Head of PRD of AIBL, jointly conducted the program.
A large number of local people and well-wishers were present at the inauguration ceremony.
Alhajj Abdus Samad Labu, Chairman of AIBL emphasized the inseparable bond between Bangladesh and Bangabandhu, and praised the development projects undertaken by the current government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He expressed hope that banks and other financial institutions will continue to contribute to the ongoing development of the country.
Farman R. Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of AIBL highlighted the potential of Islamic banking in promoting halal business and contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
