The 137th meeting of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC was held on 27 October 2026 at the Board Meeting Room of the Bank’s Head Office. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Abu Noman Md. Rafiqul Rahman, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, Mufti Dr. Md. Anwar Hosain Molla, Dr. Muhammad Ruhul Amin Rabbani, Professor Dr. Hafiz Mujtaba Riza Ahmad, and Mufti Abul Kashem Mohammad Fazlul Haque. The Bank’s Managing Director, Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan; Deputy Managing Director, Mohammed Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury; Sayed Abul Hashem, FCA, FCMA; and EVP and Secretary of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, Md. Kabir Ahmad, were also present.
The meeting featured detailed discussions on the review of the PPGs and financing policies of various investment modes of the Bank, as well as Shariah opinions and necessary approvals regarding new issues arising from the day-to-day operations of various branches and divisions. Emphasis was placed on ensuring proper compliance with Shariah principles across the Bank’s operations and providing Shariah-compliant banking services to customers.
