Aftab Feni Correspondent:  The ACC is currently investigating allegations of corruption and irregularities related to the construction of the Mahuri-Kahua-Silonia river dam in Feni.

Following the directives of the ACC Central Commission, a three-member expeditionary team, headed by Abdullah Al Noman, the Assistant Director of ACC’s Noakhali Zone, carried out an operation at the Feni Water Development Board office on Wednesday, August 6. They requested various documents for the fiscal year 2024-25 concerning the allegations of corruption and irregularities in the dam’s construction.

Subsequently, the team visited the site of the breach to examine the collapsed dam on the Mahuri-Kahua-Silonia River and is expected to submit a report to the ACC Central Commission within 48 hours, as stated by Assistant Director Abdullah Al Noman.

It is important to highlight that each year, the dams along the Mahuri-Kahua-Silonia rivers fail, resulting in flooding in the Parashuram-Fulgazi-Chhagalnaiya and Feni Sadar Upazilas.
