Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) President of Dhaka Bank Abdul Hai Sarkar. This decision was taken in a meeting organized by BAB in Gulshan of the capital on Monday (September 9). He will replace former chairman Nazrul Islam.
It is known that BAB Chairman Abdul Hai Sarkar became the Chairman of Dhaka Bank, and First Security Islami Bank Chairman Abdul Mannan and Bank Asia Chairman Romo Rauf Chowdhury became Vice Chairman.
The last chairman of the organization, Nazrul Islam Majumder, was in power since January 2008. However, as per BAB rules, the tenure of a committee is three years.
Bangladesh Bank removed Nazrul Islam Majumdar from the post of director and chairman of Exim Bank after the change of Awami League government. As a result, he lost the chairmanship of BAB.
