BM Desk:
The Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs (CHTA) in Bangladesh is taking a major step towards digitalization with the development of a user-friendly software for the Integrated Digital Service Delivery Platform (IDSDPS). This platform promises to revolutionize how residents of the three hill districts access essential government services.
It is one platform with diverse services. The IDSDPS software, currently under development, will be a one-stop shop for numerous essential services, empowering citizens to: apply for and manage schemes; access training opportunities; secure scholarships and educational support; engage with NGOs offering assistance.
The software will provide services like obtaining licenses and permits; navigate the job market and employment opportunities; manage housing applications and access housing information; utilize social security benefits; provide feedback on services received.
Developed in collaboration with the Agency for Information and Technology (AIT), the software prioritizes user experience. Mosiur Rahman, Secretary of the CHTA, emphasized this focus at the recent workshop launch, stating, “The software is user-friendly, so users can easily use it to receive benefits in a short amount of time.”
This ease of use aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure no one is left behind in the digital transformation of service delivery.
The software is being developed by Leeds Enterprise Solutions and Dream 71. A recent two-day workshop brought together stakeholders from the CHTA, beneficiaries, journalists, students, and NGO workers to provide feedback and ensure the platform meets the needs of the community.
With its user-friendly interface and comprehensive service options, the IDSDPS software has the potential to significantly improve the lives of residents in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. By streamlining access to essential services, the platform can empower citizens, boost development, and create a more inclusive and digitally empowered future for the region.
