24 meritorious students of Dhaka University, Amar Ekushey Hall, have won the Provost Award 2023. Besides, 10 meritorious students were awarded Hall Trust Fund scholarships. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman presented the awards and scholarships to the students as the chief guest in the auditorium on Wednesday evening. Besides, the Vice-Chancellor conferred the highest blood donor award at the Amar Ekushey Hall unit’s freshman function of the Bandhan Voluntary Blood Donors Association.
Treasurer Professor Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed, Hall Principal Professor Istiaq M. Syed, Bandhan Hall Unit Advisory Teacher Professor Abul Kalam Azad, Bandhan Central Council President Fahim Hossain, and Bandhan Dhaka University Zone President Yusuf Hossain spoke as special guests. Bandhan Hall Unit President Rabiul Islam presided over the program, and General Secretary Hasibul Hasan conducted the program.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the students who received the award and said that the students should work for the development of the country and the nation by becoming skilled and good citizens with human values. He said that Bandhan workers’ voluntary blood donation program is a unique example of humanitarian and non-communal values. Mentioning the importance of practicing these values in society, he said that students with such values succeed in life by facing any challenge. The Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that these students will play a key role in building smart Bangladesh.
It should be noted that 24 people in the hall were given the blood donor award for donating the most blood at the event. Besides, prizes are awarded to the winners of the quiz competition.
