Anvir re-elected president of Bajus

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anveer has been elected uncontestedly as the President of the traditional trade organization Bangladesh Jewelers Association-Bajus for the second consecutive time. He is the managing director of Bashundhara Gold Refinery Limited and Arisha Jewelers Limited. Enterprising industrial entrepreneur Sayem Sobhan Anveer expressed his gratitude to all jewelry traders across the country for electing the 35-member committee. Badal Chandra Roy, Managing Director of Jarwa House (Pvt.) Limited, a traditional ancient jewelry company of the country, has been elected as the General Secretary in the new committee.

Chairman of the Election Board and Rehab President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin Kajal announced the final results of the organization’s 2023–2025 term elections at Bajus central office at Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in the capital on Thursday. FBCCI Director and JCX Group Managing Director Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury Jewell and FBCCI Director Rakibul Alam (Dipu) were present at this time. FBCCI senior vice president Amin Helali served as the chairman of the appeals board in the Bajus elections. Two members of the appeal board were the former director of FBCCI MGR Nasir Mazumder and Bajus panel lawyer Shahzaman Feroze (Tuhin).

While announcing the results of the election, Chairman of the Election Board Alamgir Shamsul Alamin Kajol said, “We have managed to complete the 2023–2025 term elections with the help of everyone in the Bajus office. It is hoped that the new committee will play a significant role in solving the problems in the country’s jewelry sector. He also said, I believe that this committee will be able to introduce the international market to those involved in the jewelry business and spread the products of Bangladesh all over the world. We are glad that you have elected the president, who is the managing director of the renowned Bashundhara Group of Bangladesh. He is the right person to present the jewelry sector of the country in a new way. We hope that the problems in the jewelry sector will be solved by bringing all of you together and discussing them with the government.

According to the final results announced by the Bangladesh Jewelers Association-Bajus Election Board, the president of the organization has been elected for the second time in a row for the term of 2023-2025. The managing director of Bashundhara Gold Refinery Limited, Saim Sobhan Anveer, along with the seven co-presidents, are MA Hannan Azad, the leader of Alankar Niketan (Pvt) Limited, Gulzar Ahmed, the owner of M/s The Apon Jewellers; Kazi Nazneen Islam, the owner of The Amin Jewellers; Ripnul Hasan, the owner of Jewelry House; Masudur Rahman, the owner of Gold World; Zainal Abedin Khokon, the owner of M/s Rizvi Jewellers; and Samit Ghosh Apu, the owner of Fancy Diamond.

Badal Chandra Roy, Managing Director of Jarwa House (Pvt.) Ltd., has been elected as General Editor in the newly elected Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Jewelers Association. The nine co-editors selected in this committee are: Mujibur Rahman Belal, head of Baitul Jewellers; Imran Chowdhury, head of The Diamond Seer; Tajul Islam, head of Monimala Jewellers; and Enamul Haque. Bhuna Liton, head of Gold King Jewellers; Uttam Ghosh, head of Aftab Jewellers; Mustafa Kamal, head of M/s Alvi Jewellers; Zara Gold CEO Kazi Nazneen Hossain Zara, Royal Malabar Jewelers (BD) Limited Chairman Aslam Khan Apu, and Golden World Jewelers CEO Farida Hossain Karndhar Uttam Banik of Jaya Gold and Diamond Limited was elected as the treasurer of the committee.

The 16 members of the newly elected committee are: Dilip Kumar Roy, former president of Diamond House and Bajus; Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen, chairman of Siraj Jewellers; Anwar Hossain, chairman of New General Jewellers; Pavitra Chandra Ghosh, chairman of PC Chandra Jewellers; Pawan Kumar Agarwal, chairman of Gitanjali Jewellers; M/s. Narayan Chandra Dey, CEO of Baisakhi Jewellers; Bidhan Malakar, Managing Director of Venus Jewelers Limited; Mojibur Rahman Khan, CEO of Rahman Jewellers; Wahiduzzaman, CEO of Al-Noor Jewelers; Joydev Saha, Managing Partner of The Pearl Oasis Jewellers; Iqbal Uddin, CEO of M/s Sajni Jewellers, Chalam, CEO of Rhea Jewellers, Gaur B Jewellers Leader Ganesh Debnath, Leader of M/s Swarnali Jewelers Haji Shamshul Haque Bhuya, Leader of Adar Jewelers Nazmul Huda Latif, and Leader of Dreams Instrument Technology Ali Hossain.
