Jamuna Bank PLC organized a workshop titled “RBS Implementation and Regulatory Expectations” at the Jamuna Bank Training Academy in Dhaka on 12th September, 2026.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Abdur Rab, Director, Supervisory Policy & Coordination Department (SPCD), Bangladesh Bank, and Mr. Md. Nurul Huda, Joint Director, SPCD, Bangladesh Bank. They discussed the key elements of Risk-Based Supervision (RBS), its effective implementation in the banking sector, and the regulatory expectations associated with the framework. The workshop was inaugurated by Md. Shahidul Islam, Deputy Managing Director, Chief Risk Officer and RBS Focal Point of Jamuna Bank PLC, who attended as the chief guest. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Deputy Managing Director, attended as special guest. The session also featured remarks from Md. Prashanta Samir, Head of Credit Risk Management Division; Md. Afzal Hossain, Head of Jamuna Bank Training; and Sazia Afreen, SAVP. Divisional heads and senior branch heads of Jamuna Bank also took part in the workshop. The workshop focused on Risk-Based Supervision (RBS), its implementation in the banking sector, and key regulatory expectations. The session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the RBS framework and strengthen the Bank’s preparedness in line with regulatory requirements. Other senior officials of Jamuna Bank PLC attended the workshop and shared their views on effective implementation of the framework and maintaining sound regulatory practices.
