Emerald Oil moves to restart production

Listed food and allied sector company Emerald Oil Limited has initiated efforts to resume production after a prolonged shutdown, undertaking repair, maintenance, and installation of new equipment at its factory.

According to information disclosed through the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the company’s production has remained suspended since January 1, 2024, due to an inadequate gas supply.

To restart operations and ensure uninterrupted production in the future, the company’s board of directors has authorized management to carry out the necessary repair and maintenance work at the factory.

As part of the initiative, Emerald Oil has already procured a new boiler, transformer, and electrical substation equipment. Installation of the new machinery is currently underway.

Repair work is also progressing on the refinery unit and other plant facilities and equipment.

The company estimates that the total cost of purchasing new equipment and completing maintenance work will be around Tk 10 crore. The production restart is expected to improve the company’s operational capacity after more than two years of inactivity.
