The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has approved a Tk 141.33 crore procurement proposal to modernise nine 33/11 kV AIS substations under the Northern Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) as part of efforts to upgrade the power distribution network.

The approval came at a meeting held on Wednesday at the Secretariat, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.

Under the project, titled “Network Infrastructure Development and Modernisation of the Power Distribution System in the NESCO Area,” the selected contractor will design, supply, install, test, and commission nine substations in the Rangpur region.

The contract, valued at Tk 141.33 crore, has been awarded to a joint venture between Adex Corporation Limited (ACL) and Adex Engineering Limited (AEL).
