Aviation.com.bd on Friday organized the Second Tour Guide Workshop “Tour Guide Technique & Operation” in Dhaka, bringing together 23 participants from across Bangladesh to enhance professional skills in the tourism sector.
Held at Biswa Sahitto Kendro in Banglamotor, the day-long workshop attracted tour guides, tourism professionals, travel entrepreneurs, students, and aspiring guides. The programme featured presentations, group discussions, teamwork exercises, and experience-sharing sessions covering destination interpretation, visitor management, communication, customer service, safety, and emerging tourism trends.
The workshop was facilitated by Taufiq Rahman, Founder and CEO of Journey Plus and Secretary General of the PATA Bangladesh Chapter. He emphasized the importance of professional training, saying tour guides play a key role in interpreting destinations and creating memorable visitor experiences.
At the closing ceremony, Syed Ghulam Qadir, Chief Editor of Travel Canvas, described tour guides as ambassadors of the country and encouraged participants to deepen their knowledge of Bangladesh’s tourist destinations. Zahirul Alam Bhuiyan, Publisher of Travel Canvas, highlighted the career opportunities in the tourism sector and stressed the importance of English communication and practical skills such as first aid and crisis management.
Harunur Rashid, Founder and CEO of Aviation.com.bd, said the initiative aims to connect industry experts with aspiring professionals and contribute to the sustainable development of Bangladesh’s tourism industry.
The workshop concluded with certificates awarded to all participants. Organizers said more industry-focused training and networking programmes will be arranged in the future to help build a skilled tourism workforce.
