Prominent banker Mr. Md. Abdullah Al-Mamun has joined Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. as Additional Managing Director (AMD) on 28th April, 2026. Prior to joining at Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. he served as the Deputy Managing Director at Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. Mr. Md. Abdullah Al-Mamun was born in a noble Muslim family in Jamalpur district.
He obtained his graduate and postgraduate degree from University of Dhaka. He also holds an MBA in Accounting and also obtained Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Certified Financial Planning (CFP) from Toronto, Canada.
Later he obtained professional certifications as ACBA from IBA, University of Dhaka. Mr. Md. Abdullah Al-Mamun has 28 years’ professional experience in Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. working in different capacities. He started his banking career in AIBPLC as Probationary Officer on 30 April in 1998 and lastly worked as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) & CBO of the Bank. Mr. Md. Abdullah Al-Mamun has proven track records and hands on experience in different areas of banking business including Branch and in the senior management role at Corporate Head Office of AIBPLC.
With excellent customer relationships he marked a proven record in development of Branch business in AIBPLC working longtime as Branch Manager of 3 corporate Branches of the Bank. Mr. Md. Abdullah Al-Mamun participated in numerous training programs and workshops in home and abroad.
