PM inaugurates canal excavation in Bogura

B Mirror Report: Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today inaugurated the excavation work of a canal at Bagbari in Gabtoli upazila of his ancestral home district Bogura.

The Prime Minister formally launched the digging work of the Chaukirdah canal in the Nashipur area of Bagbari by cutting soil with a spade around 3:45pm.

Local lawmaker Morshed Milton, Bogura Deputy Commissioner Md Toufikur Rahman and Central Krishak Dal Senior Vice-President Md Helaluzzaman Talukder, among others, were present on the occasion.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister distributed “Family Cards” among 911 beneficiaries at the Shaheed Zia Degree College ground in Bagbari under Gabtoli upazila.

He arrived at the Bogura Circuit House at 9:58am as part of a daylong tour of the district.

Officials said this is his maiden visit to his ancestral home district after assuming office as Prime Minister on February 17.
