Maksons Spinning Mills, a company listed on the stock market, has decided to surrender a 10-acre industrial plot allocated under the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), according to sources at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
The company had previously informed investors through letters issued on November 11 and December 6, 2020, about acquiring the industrial plot at the Mirsarai/Feni Economic Zone under the National Special Economic Zone.
However, citing the current global economic situation and the slowdown in the textile sector, the company has decided to return the plot to BEZA.
The company also said it may consider taking another industrial plot under BEZA in the future if the overall economic conditions improve.
