Premier Cement Advances with Strong Financial Footing, Secures ‘AA’ Credit Rating

The credit rating of listed companies serves as a key indicator in assessing financial strength, debt repayment capacity, and overall risk exposure. Recently, the latest credit rating of Premier Cement Mills PLC has been published, offering important insights for investors and stakeholders. The rating has been assigned by Credit Rating Information and Services Limited, a reputable credit rating agency in Bangladesh. According to its assessment, the company has been awarded a long-term rating of ‘AA’ and a short-term rating of ‘ST-2’. Each of these ratings reflects distinct aspects of the company’s financial health.

The long-term ‘AA’ rating signifies that Premier Cement Mills PLC possesses a very strong capacity to meet its financial obligations. Companies within the ‘AA’ category are generally considered to have high credit quality, indicating a solid financial foundation, stable business operations, and a relatively low risk of default over the long term. While ‘AAA’ remains the highest possible rating, ‘AA’ is still regarded as a mark of excellent creditworthiness. Meanwhile, the short-term ‘ST-2’ rating reflects the company’s ability to meet its short-term liabilities. Although one notch below ‘ST-1’,this rating suggests that the company maintains a good capacity to fulfill its short-term financial commitments and is considered a safe and acceptable rating.

In determining these ratings, CRISL conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the company’s financial and operational performance. The assessment was based on audited financial statements up to June 30, 2025, and unaudited financial data up to December 31, 2025. Key factors analyzed included revenue and expenditure patterns, cash flow, debt levels, asset structure, and overall financial performance.

Beyond quantitative analysis, qualitative factors were also taken into account. These include management efficiency, market positioning, industry trends, competitive dynamics, raw material availability, and the broader economic environment. This integrated approach enhances the reliability and depth of the rating outcome. The information was disclosed through the Dhaka Stock Exchange, serving as an important reference for market participants. Credit ratings play a crucial role in investment decision-making, as they provide insights into a company’s risk profile.

Overall, the ‘AA’ long-term and ‘ST-2’ short-term ratings reflect Premier Cement Mills PLC’s strong financial stability and credibility. This positive evaluation is expected to bolster investor confidence and facilitate easier access to financing and future investment opportunities. However, investors are advised to consider additional financial indicators and prevailing market conditions alongside credit ratings when making investment decisions.
