Premier Bank gets new leader

Md. Monzur Mofiz has been appointed as the Managing Director of Premier Bank, on the basis of the Board of Director’s decision and with the approval of Bangladesh Bank, for the next three years. His appointment has been effective from April 16, 2026. Prior to this, he had been serving as the Managing Director (Current Charge) of the bank since December 14, 2025.

Commenting on the matter, the Chairman of the bank, Dr. Arifur Rahman, said, “Md. Monzur Mofiz is enriched with extensive experience in the banking sector. We believe that his capable leadership will further strengthen the position of the bank and play an important role in achieving sustainable growth.”

With more than three decades of vast banking experience, Md. Monzur Mofiz began his career in 1993 through Sonali Bank. He later served as the Managing Director of ONE Bank. In addition, he has worked in various important positions at Dutch-Bangla Bank, The City Bank, AB Bank and Sonali Bank.

He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has notable expertise in corporate banking, fund management, retail and SME deposit growth, and agent banking.

The Board of Directors of the bank has expressed optimism that under his leadership, the institution will achieve its strategic goals and ensure sustainable growth.
