The Tangail district administration is conducting ground surveillance on the highway and petrol pumps to ease traffic congestion on the Dhaka-Tangail highway and maintain normal fuel supply to vehicles on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr in Tangail.
On Tuesday, March 17, numerous people are returning home in North Bengal-bound vehicles leaving Dhaka on the Dhaka-Tangail highway after crossing the Jamuna Bridge. As the government holiday begins on Tuesday, the pressure of vehicles has been noticeable since Monday night. However, traffic on the road is normal.

There has been a major instability. As a result, it has affected Bangladesh. However, the Bangladesh government is making every effort to maintain normal oil supply.
Tangail District Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Sharifa Haque has issued instructions to maintain normal fuel supply to long-distance vehicles as per government regulations to ensure normal traffic flow during Eid.
The magistrate team formed by the district administration is working round the clock.
In continuation of this, a team led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Pankaj Sharma inspected petrol pumps on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.
During the inspection, the magistrate said that he spoke to the pump owner and the driver of the car.
At the same time, we are providing guidance to petrol pump owners. In addition, the oil in the pumps is being accounted for daily to prevent black marketing.
On the ground, petrol pumps are seen supplying fuel to vehicles, subject to availability. However, long lines of long-distance buses, trucks, private cars and motorcycles are seen at each pump.
The owner of Hamid & Company petrol pump said,
They are providing oil as per the government’s instructions.
However, they are not getting enough oil from the depot. Despite repeated requests from the government, they are unable to communicate with the people at the depot (dealer: Meghna Petroleum Limited). He is seeking the intervention of the government and the administration.
Drivers said they are getting the fuel they need. However, some pumps are having problems. However, they also said that a government campaign is needed at filling stations.
