Bangladesh railway starts Eid advance ticket sales for western zone

B Mirror Report: Bangladesh Railway has commenced advance ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr travel, initially opening bookings for trains bound for the western region of the country.

Ticket sales began at 8:00am on Tuesday for passengers planning to travel on March 13. All Eid tickets are being sold exclusively through online platforms, and the advance sale will continue until March 9.

Return tickets for the post-Eid journey will be available from March 13 to March 18, according to a report by bdnews24.com.

Inter-city train tickets for the western zone have already been released, while tickets for the eastern region are scheduled to go on sale at 2:00pm, said Rezaul Karim Siddique, public relations officer at the Ministry of Railways.

As per the announced schedule, passengers can purchase tickets on March 4 for travel on March 14; March 5 for March 15; March 6 for March 16; March 7 for March 17; March 8 for March 18; and March 9 for March 19.

Railway authorities stated that each passenger will be allowed to buy tickets only once using a single national ID card. A maximum of four seats can be booked in a single transaction.

Officials also made it clear that Eid travel tickets will not be refundable under any circumstances.

To facilitate passengers who fail to obtain seats online, 25 per cent of tickets in non-AC coaches will be issued as standing tickets from the originating stations prior to departure.
