B Mirror Report: The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has invited public opinions, suggestions, and objections on the draft “Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Capital Market Related Information Disclosure and Whistleblower Protection) Rules, 2026.”
The draft rules have been prepared under the authority of Section 33(1) of the Securities and Exchange Ordinance, 1969 and Section 24(1) of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Act, 1993, empowering the commission to regulate capital market practices.
The proposed regulation aims to serve a dual purpose: ensuring transparent disclosure of capital market information and providing strong legal safeguards for whistleblowers who report financial irregularities or sector-specific malpractices. The rules are designed to strengthen market integrity and promote accountability in the financial sector.
