Banks, stock market closed for four days for election

B Mirror Report: Banks and the capital market across the country will remain closed for four consecutive days from Wednesday to Saturday (11–14 February) due to the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum, scheduled to be held nationwide in two days.

As a result, all banks will remain closed during this period. Trading on both stock exchanges the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)—will also be suspended.

According to relevant sources, the national election will take place on Thursday (12 February). The government has declared Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays for the occasion, leading to the suspension of stock market trading on those two days.

Following this, Friday and Saturday are regular weekly holidays. Consequently, there will be no trading in the capital market for four consecutive days, from Wednesday through Saturday.

Sources further said that trading activities on the DSE and CSE will resume as per the usual schedule from Sunday (15 February), after the holidays.
