BB to Announce Monetary Policy for January-June 2026

B Mirror Report: The Monetary Policy Statement (MPS) for the January–June period of the 2025–26 fiscal year, which outlines the bank’s credit and economic policy for the second half of the year, is scheduled to be released by Bangladesh Bank (BB) tomorrow.

According to a press release, the central bank will host a formal press conference at 11:00 AM at the Jahangir Alam Conference Hall, located on the fifth floor of the main building at the Bangladesh Bank Head Office in Motijheel.

The briefing, organized by the bank’s Department of Communications and Publications, will be presided over by Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur as the chief guest. He will be joined by deputy governors, the Bangladesh Bank Advisor, and the Head of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).

Other senior officials expected to attend include the Executive Director of the Monetary Policy Department (MPD), the Executive Director of the Research Department, along with the bank’s spokesperson and assistant spokesperson.

As the central bank looks to strike a compromise between controlling inflation and allowing enough credit flow to sustain economic growth, the next MPS is regarded as a crucial guide for the second half of FY26. In order to maintain macroeconomic stability for the rest of the fiscal year, financial analysts expect the statement to provide significant insights on interest rate developments and liquidity management tactics.
