B Mirror Report : The Deposit Insurance Department of Bangladesh Bank (BB) organized a two-day training workshop from Wednesday on “Preparation of Deposit Insurance Premium Determination Statement”, aimed at strengthening the technical capacity of scheduled banks in managing deposit insurance protocols, according to a press release.
The program drew participation from 122 officers representing 61 scheduled banks across the country. Kakoli Jahan Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest and highlighted key aspects of the current Deposit Insurance System in Bangladesh.
Md. Selim Ahmed, Director of the Deposit Insurance Department, presided over the sessions, stressing the importance of accurate and complete data to safeguard depositors’ interests within the national banking sector.
Technical sessions were conducted by senior officials, including Additional Director Nure Asma Nadia and Joint Directors Amina Akter and Tania Sultana. A major highlight was the detailed review of the Deposit Protection Ordinance, 2025, along with hands-on guidance on preparing deposit insurance-related data.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, enabling participating officers to clarify technical issues and share practical insights regarding the implementation of the new ordinance and premium determination processes.
